It's Not Easy...
Hey! It is 12:15 am on July 24th, 2026. I had quite the day today. I woke up negative, feeling weighed down by all of my responsibilities, obligations, and my perceived shortcomings. There are so many things I want to do but life just won't let me, type of attitude. Fortunately, for me, I do have a handful of people in my life that provide interactions for me that help to guide me out of those ways of thinking and feeling. They did so for me again today, but this emotionally flatlined felling lingered. Sometimes all you can do is wait for it to pass, I've learned.
So, I had an interesting exchange with my mom about an hour ago. I will keep the juicy details to myself, but it inspired me to get on here and share a little advice to those who feel like they are buried beneath the weight of their past, their financial problems, weight issues, broken dreams, missed opportunities, lack of love, lack of support, lack of hair, or maybe the lack of "beauty". The list of things that weigh us down can be a never ending one, right? With that being said, press the mute button on your problems for just a moment and read the paragraph that follows knowing that a real human, that cares, and that has her own baggage is speaking to you with love and compassion.
I nor anyone else can change how you feel about yourself. No one can give you your self-worth back or the true motivation and strength needed to implement real change in your life. Those are things you, unfortunately, have to muster up for yourself. I say unfortunately, because man oh man, it would be nice to have some help with that.
It's not easy to workout, eat better, make a decision that may cause retaliation or discomfort for you or someone else, change jobs, or whatever it may be that you have to do to make a real and positive change in your life. I have a question for you... is the life you are currently living easy? If what I have said thus far is resonating with you, I am willing to bet it is not.
You have to choose what type of hard you are willing to live with. The hard that you are already dealing with or the hard that will provide you with a better quality of life, happiness included? It is a choice that you have to make. Nobody can make it for you, make it happen for you, or even get you started. That is the truth and it applies to everyone, that means me too.
I will end this post with a reminder - you have this amazing power of choice, and it is up to you how you wield it.
With Love, Sarah
